Foreword

The Mono Quantum Dream Team is finally complete, but is there more to Sparkle than meets the eye? As the latest Quantum Harmony unit, Sparkle is our 2nd ever AV manipulation unit following Bronya, a powerhouse of a support since the launch of the game. With CDMG, DMG%, Skill Points and AV Advance, Sparkle might be a lot more universal than her initial impressions.

Character Kit

Abilities

AbilityBenefits
Monodrama – Basic ATK | Single | +20 Energy
Deals Quantum DMG equal to 100% of Sparkle’s ATK to a single target enemy.

Sparkle’s trace grants her basic attack the same energy generation her skill, IE 30. While basic attack is not optimal in a hypercarry setup where you want Sparkle’s AV Advance and CDMG Buff as much as possible on the hypercarry, it does bring flexibility in specific situations, such as Imbibitor Lunae getting his 3SP, or Duo DPS comps both using skill more frequently.
Dreamdiver – Skill | Support | +30 Energy
Increases the CRIT DMG of a single ally by 24% of Sparkle’s CRIT DMG plus 45%, lasting for 1 turn. And at the same time, Advances Forward this ally’s action by 50%.
When Sparkle uses this ability on herself, the Action Advance effect will not trigger.

Even higher CDMG Scaling than Bronya’s Ultimate! Arguably, this is not Sparkle’s most important mechanic, that would belong to her ultimate. Regarding the skill, a 50% AV Advance with roughly 90% CDMG Buff (assuming close to 200 CDMG Sparkle) is an excellent buff, likely one of the best hypercarry buff in the game. Keep in mind this is 50% AV Advance, not an extra turn like Bronya, so speed tuning would be extremely important to gain the full mileage out of this skill.
The Hero with a Thousand Faces – Ultimate | Support | 110 Energy
Recovers 4 Skill Points for the team and grants all allies Cipher. When allies with Cipher trigger the DMG Boost effect provided by Sparkle’s Talent, each stack additionally increases its effect by 10.0%, lasting for 2 turns.

Sparkle’s Bread and Butter. At 110 energy cost, 3T Ultimate rotations are guaranteed with a single ER Rope, providing a whopping 4SP. Since her basic attack generates the same energy, Sparkle’s SP positivity can be tuned accordingly between +1 to +7 across 3 turns, depending on the scenario she is presented with. +1 will provide the highest damage buff due to 3 skill and talent procs, though if situations such as emergency heals or additional skill usage arises, Sparkle can adjust accordingly without impacting her ultimate rotation.
Red Herring – Talent | Support
While Sparkle is on the battlefield, additionally increases the max number of Skill Points by 2. Whenever an ally consumes 1 Skill Point, all allies’ DMG increases by 6.0%. This effect lasts for 2 turn(s) and can stack up to 3 time(s).

Maximum SP raised to 7 to account for her Ultimate and Technique while providing a teamwide 18% DMG buff permanently as long as skill points are consumed. DMG% multipliers are rather low but it does go up to 48% under the effects of Cipher (ultimate). Unlikely for Sparkle to be as good of a fit as compared to Ruan Mei for Duo DPS Team comps despite her SP Positivity.

As such, between her Skill, Ultimate, and Talent, Sparkle’s use is much more suited to a hypercarry support similar to Hanya with her SP Positivity, and Bronya with her AV Advance.
Unreliable Narrator – Technique | Support
Using the Technique grants all allies Stealth for 20 seconds. Characters in Stealth will not be detected by enemies, and entering battle while in Stealth recovers 3 Skill Point(s) for the team.

With her talent, technique allows the team to start with 6 SP on the go, greatly frontloading Sparkle’s buff multipliers as she essentially gets 3 skill casts for free. This allows Sparkle to permanently maintain SP positivity as long as Technique is used, extremely important.

Traces

TraceBenefits
Total Minor Traces24% HP 10% RES 24% CRIT DMG

All excellent traces. HP to provide some tankiness, RES to synergize with potential Broken Keel and annoying debuffs, 24% CDMG to help her skill scale better.
Almanac
When using Basic ATK, additionally regenerates 10 Energy.

As mentioned earlier, allows Sparkle to have flexibility between using Skill and Basic to generate sufficient skill points without affecting Ultimate uptime.
Artificial Flower
The CRIT DMG Boost effect provided by the Skill lasts until the start of the target’s next turn.

Very powerful trace. Extending the buff to the start target’s next turn allows follow up attackers to gain the benefits of Sparkle’s CDMG buff even after their turn has ended. Notable beneficiaries include Jingyuan, Dr.Ratio, Himeko and Herta.
Nocturne
Increases all allies’ ATK by 15%. When there are 1/2/3 Quantum character(s) in your team, Quantum-Type allies’ ATK are increased by 5%/15%/30%.

Up to 30% ATK buff in Mono Quantum. Not as impactful as the other traces especially since other than the hypercarry (Seele or Qingque), the ATK% buff isn’t beneficial for anyone else unless one is running a DPS Silver Wolf. Furthermore, having a mixed support such as Bronya, Ruan Mei or Tingyun could be even more beneficial than Silver Wolf especially if the target is already weak to Quantum, hence players shouldn’t build their teams around this trace.

Eidolons

EidolonBenefits
E1 – Suspension of Disbelief: The Cipher effect applied by the Ultimate lasts for 1 extra turn. All allies affected by Cipher have their ATK increased by 40%.Now provides a well rounded 48% DMG and 40% ATK buff that lasts for 3 Turns, which perfectly synergizes with Sparkle’s 3T Ultimate rotation. Decent upgrade, but not as impactful as multipliers such as DEF PEN or RES PEN.
E2 – Purely Fictitious: Each Talent stack allows allies to ignore 8% of the enemy target’s DEF when dealing DMG to enemies.Game changing. 24% DEF Reduction at full stacks applied to the entire team. This could potentially make Duo DPS much more viable, and definitely brings the hypercarry setup to the next level. Coupled with the likelihood of using 4pc Quantum and Silver Wolf (in Mono Quant), a DPS can easily reach close to 100% DEF Reduction for tons of damage.
E4 – Life Is a Gamble: The Ultimate recovers 1 more Skill Point. The Talent additionally increases Max Skill Points by 1.Players will notice as Sparkle’s Eidolon increases, her position starts shifting more towards Duo DPS. +5 SP on Ult, bringing her SP Positivity up to +2 and +8. Not very impactful for hypercarry as it does not have as much SP pressure unless using Imbibitor Lunae, the only unit that consistently uses 3SP every turn (even Qingque might not fully benefit from this).
E6 – Narrative Polysemy: The CRIT DMG Boost effect of Sparkle’s Skill additionally increases by 30% of Sparkle’s CRIT DMG, and her Skill’s CRIT DMG Boost effect will apply to all allies currently with Cipher. Also Game changing. Sparkle is now a fully fledged Duo DPS Support by providing the CDMG buff to the entire team. CDMG scaling drastically improved from 24% to 54%, which provides a much larger incentive for better CDMG relics, tying together nicely with the whales who intend to pull her E6, and farm good relics. For new whales who missed out on Ruan Mei and want another Duo DPS Support, E6 Sparkle is extremely competitive with E6 Ruan Mei.

Summary: Sparkle has a complete kit even at E0, with the strongest powerspike being E2 and E6. For players intending to stick with a hypercarry setup, E2 Sparkle will see the highest return on investment.

Relics

Energy Thresholds

Sparkle has an extremely simplistic energy threshold since she gains 30 energy no matter skill or basic, with a 110 energy cost. It is not worth it to try and achieve 2T Ultimate, and it will never make sense for a 4T Ultimate by dropping ER Rope.

Notation

  • Q = Ultimate
  • E = Skilll
  • A = Basic Attack
Light ConeSkill OrderER Rope?2-pieceERNotes
AnyEEE/AAAYesAny19.4%+113.43, perfect 3T Ultimate

Cogs/MOTPAAYes5%24.4%100.76, potential 2T Ultimate
(38+38+5)*1.244. If get hit, or external sources like Ruan Mei S1/Huo Huo, could potentially 2T Ultimate. Not recommended unless intending to use Sparkle as auto attack bot.

Summary: Stick with ER Rope 3T Ultimate rotation, very straightforward.

Speed Thresholds

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a speed threshold segment, and Sparkle’s speed tuning is the one of the most important part to playing Sparkle optimally. CN has summarized 3 variations players can look into, namely Slow Sparkle, 160 Sparkle, and Hyperspeed Sparkle.

VariationSpeedUsageObjective
Slow Sparkle133.4/134Fast DPSIdeal for DPS who inherently has higher speed, Sparkle similar to a Bronya variations, doing DPS>Sparkle>DPS>Sparkle>DPS. Since AV Advance is only 50%, it will be slightly weaker than Bronya as she cannot grant the DPS 4 actions in one cycle.

Slow Sparkle can now allocate more sub stats to CDMG for a slightly higher burst, but the first DPS action will not receive Sparkle’s CDMG buff. Also demands DPS to stack 134 speed, sacrificing on their offensive stats such as ATK, Crit and CDMG. Not the best variation.
160 Sparkle160.1UniversalMinimum Speed required to hit 4 actions in 2 cycles. DPS speed is now effectively tied to Sparkle’s speed, forcing Sparkle to Skill every turn which transforms our DPS to having 160.1 Speed as well. Allows DPS to all in damage, ignoring speed main stat/sub stat, but beware of enemy crowd controls or Sparkle running out of SP to cast her skill.

If equipping Sparkle with Vonwaq, or Eagle 4pc, or any DDD in the team, this brings Sparkle to the best variation below.
Hyperspeed
Sparkle
151.4-1840 CycleAim is to complete 3 Actions in the very first cycle. This hyperspeed concept can also be applied to any supports. While seemingly lower speed is needed than 160 Sparkle, this is because 151.4 speed would require 2 DDD and Wind 4pc equipped, creating a 4800+2500 AV Advance.
Kindly refer to attached screenshot for the different benchmarks.

1 DDD = 184
2 DDD = 168
1 DDD + Eagle = 167.4
2 DDD + Eagle = 151.4
1 DDD + Vonwaq = 157.4

Quick refresher: 1 action requires 10,000 AV, any AV Advance brings up the AV amount respectively, then divide by 150, since that is the 0 cycle denominator.

Relic Set

SetNotes
Eagle
As mentioned earlier, greatly helps to reduce Speed required for Sparkle to hit the necessary benchmarks. In fact, Eagle is more impactful and universal than Hackerspace 4pc, CN has been using it as their go to support set for all 0 cycles. That said, it is extremely inefficient to farm since
1) the 2 piece effect is useless, and
2) very little DPS utilize the Hunter 4pc, even Jingliu prefers Quantum 4pc.
Hackerspace and Longevous both have excellent 2pc effects.
Hackerspace + Any
Aids with more speed either as a 4pc or 2pc. Not as important to achieve 4pc as compared to getting better speed and CDMG subs on the relic itself. More stamina efficient.

Planetary Set

SetNotes
Vonwaq
The ideal 2pc to help Sparkle achieve her necessary speed thresholds, which is much more important as a support with AV Advance. However if players are not interested at 3 actions in 1st cycle, any of the following would work. Energy % here is useless.
Fleetless/Keel/Penacony

All with decent teamwide buffs to increase DPS damage, especially if Sparkle already hit her necessary speed thresholds. Keel works the best since she has innate RES, and the CDMG buff can also be applied to herself. Fleetless is not as optimal due to her teammates not being DOT, and Penacony only for Seele and Qingque.

Main / Sub Stats

Very straightforward. Speed is more important than CDMG, as speed threshold is the key to a well built Sparkle. Everything else is secondary. Find relics with the best speed and CDMG sub stats, and adjust accordingly.

Main StatSub Stat Priority
ChestCDMGHighCDMG/Speed
BootsSpeedMediumHP/DEF/RES
RopeEnergyLowAny
SphereHP%

Light Cones

Light ConeBenefits
S1 Earthly Escapade
Best in slot, 32% CDMG to improve Sparkle’s CDMG buff scaling, and a teamwide 48 CV (10 crit 28 CDMG) buff. Note that this buff will not have 100% uptime if the wearer does not recover SP fast enough, so it might not be as universal if the battle drags on for prolonged periods.
That said, it is possible to stack on multiple copies of this light cone to obtain multiple effects at once. In a 0 cycle scenario, this might see interesting usage especially for whales who speedruns everything, but very niche.
S5 DDD
Sparkle’s energy threshold is also not inherently tied to any specific light cone such as Coggers and Bronya S1, while also not losing too much of her core kit without Earthly Escapade’s CDMG. As such, having DDD allows Sparkle to hit her necessary speed thresholds to perform either 3 actions in 1st cycle or 4 actions in 2 cycles, reducing her speed requirements and opening up sub stats to CDMG. Note that DDD is also stackable, as mentioned previously, so running multiple copies can advance not only herself but the entire team, one support example being Tingyun.
S1 Battle isn’t Over
Decent alternative, especially since Sparkle’s AV Advance usually means the DPS will be the next unit acting following her skill, allowing it to benefit from Bronya S1’s DMG% Buff. Energy Regeneration is not helpful, since she will still be rather far from 2T ultimate (although S5 Bronya LC with Vonwaq for 42.4% ER will lead to 18 energy short, so using it with Huohuo or getting hit might be able to 2T Ult). The additional SP from Bronya Ultimate could also be very useful especially for high SP usage DPS such as QQ and Imbibitor Lunae.
S5 Past and Future/Planetary Rendezvous
Between both LC, Planetary is less preferred than PnF since it has 8% less DMG buff, and PnF should proc more consistently than other DPS due to Sparkle AV Advancing our DPS. In the future, if a Duo DPS Mono Quantum comp arises (or even right now with Crit DPS Silver Wolf), Planetary may see more value.

Summary

Sparkle’s S1 is a good quality of life for players lacking good crit stats, but DDD might be much more valuable in terms of hitting Sparkle’s respective speed thresholds especially if she is the only Harmony unit.

Team Compositions

Sparkle’s role mainly lies in being a hypercarry support, similar to Hanya, Bronya and Tingyun. Although it might be viable to run her in a Duo DPS by using her as a basic attack bot for +7 SP to sustain 2 SP consumers, the lack of CDMG buff and AV Advance does not translate well to optimal gameplay, and as such Ruan Mei, Pela, Asta would be more preferred. Not optimal for DOT team.

Notable DPS that Sparkle works well with includes pretty much all Crit Hypercarries, such as Qingque, Imbibitor Lunae, Seele, Blade and Jingliu. For Mono Quantum in particular, the biggest benefit would lie from Silver Wolf’s Quantum implant to overcome off element stages, something that is extremely beneficial for players with subpar relic quality.

Another class of hypercarries that players should consider are the followup attackers, namely Jing Yuan, Topaz, Dr.Ratio and Clara, since all of them will be able to benefit from Sparkle’s Skill Buffs as it extends to the start of their next turn.

More details will be provided in Sparkle’s future Team Analysis, so stay tuned!
